Importing your parts catalogue
Same screen, same safeguards, and three pricing traps we keep you out of.
In Parts & Inventory, Importer (Import). It works like the customer import: preview before writing, columns recognised automatically, detailed report, and a file template to download.
- The selling price is excluding VAT: the invoice line takes it and adds VAT. Putting the VAT-inclusive column there would overcharge by your VAT rate (20 % in France) on every sale.
- A purchase price of 0 means “not filled in”, not “free”: otherwise you would read a 100 % margin across your whole shelf.
- A stock alert threshold is not imported for an item whose stock you never counted: otherwise the page would open on hundreds of alerts that nothing can clear.
- Suppliers are created along the way, from their name.
- Two lines of the same item have their quantities added together, and an item already in your stock is never overwritten.
Categories are a fixed list
Your labels are sorted into Fixara’s categories, and whatever fits none of them (the brand, a more precise label) goes into the item’s description. A made-up category would show with no colour and no filter.
